Metro 2033 is being developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 and PC by 4A Games, a new developer formed by former employees of GSC Game World, the guys behind the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.   Like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro 2033 finds itself set in a post-apocalyptic environment after war has torn the world apart and tainted the atmosphere with nuclear fallout.

Set in the unique setting of Moscow, survivors must find refugee in a massive subway system.  This subway system is a great setting and really provides the atmosphere for the underground living seen throughout the game.  The dark tunnels are highlighted by some great lighting effects here and there and, again, reinforces the dismal scenery throughout.  You will get the opportunity to explore the outside world, but must where protection, such as masks, to defend yourself against the harsh elements.

While there are many different types of "governments" found in the underground colonies of the current state of Moscow, there still is an economic system in place where bullets act as currency.  Since bullets are simply harder to develop in such a rough time, they are considered valuable.  Therefore, using ammunition - whether against enemies or at the shop - must be taken with great care and consideration.

You're probably wondering what you'll be shooting in the game as well.  The result of the aftermath is deformed creatures that roam the outside world and, inevitably, your encounters with these creatures will result in fierce firefights and tense battles.  You'll also face human foes as well and get the chance to get the most out of the ammunition you have saved.

Metro 2033 is shaping up to be a promising title and 4A Games is proud of what they have accomplished.  We'll have more as we near its release date of March 16, 2010 so stay tuned.
